Mary Rose Byrne, better known simply as "Rose Byrne" is a celebrated Aussie actress whose versatility has graced both the silver screen and television. Rose was born on July 24, 1979, in Balmain, Australia. As the youngest of four siblings, Rose developed an early passion for acting, enrolling in the Australian Theatre for Young People at the tender age of eight. She later honed her craft at the University of Sydney and furthered her studies at the Atlantic Theater Company.

Rose's acting journey began with her film debut in Dallas Doll (1994) at just 15 years old. She continued to build her career in Australian cinema and television throughout the 1990s. Her breakthrough came with the lead role in The Goddess of 1967 (2000), earning her the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival. This accolade opened doors to international opportunities, leading to a role as one of Padme Amidala's handmaidens, Dormé, in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002).

In 2004, Rose portrayed Briseis in the epic film Troy, sharing the screen with Brad Pitt. She then showcased her range by taking on diverse roles, such as a medical officer in the underrated sci-fi thriller Sunshine (2007) and a mother in the James Wan's acclaimed horror Insidious (2010). Her portrayal of Ellen Parsons in the television series Damages (2007–2012) earned her two Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmy nominations, solidifying her status in the industry.

Transitioning seamlessly into comedy, Rose delivered memorable performances in Bridesmaids (2011), Bad Neighbors (2014), and Spy (2015), earning praise for her impeccable timing and charm. Displaying further versatility, Rose also embraced the role of Moira MacTaggert in blockbusters X-Men: First Class and X-Men Apocalypse, before lending her voiceice to the Peter Rabbit movie.

Beyond her professional achievements, Rose has been in a relationship with actor Bobby Cannavale since 2012. The couple has two sons, Rocco and Rafa. Despite her international success, Rose remains connected to her Australian roots, often reflecting on her journey from Sydney to Hollywood with gratitude and humility.
